Efimova and Mitrofanov Are Quietly Rewriting the Book on U.S. Pairs Skating
Alisa Efimova and Misha Mitrofanov are two-time U.S. pairs champions and the reigning standard-bearers of American pairs skating. Both Russian-born, they came to the United States and built a partnership that has redefined expectations for American pairs at the international level.
Efimova and Mitrofanov claimed their first U.S. title in dominant fashion and followed it with a gold medal at the 2026 Four Continents Championships — the first American pairs team to win that title in years. At the 2026 Milan Olympics, they delivered the most complete performance of their careers and recorded the highest score ever achieved by a U.S. pairs team at an Olympic Games, firmly establishing themselves as a legitimate podium threat on the world stage.
