The U.S. Figure Skating Athlete Support (ASUPP) Fund provides financial assistance to athletes named to Team Envelopes A, B, C and D to help offset training and competition expenses.
Team envelope assignments are based on results from the prior season. Athletes qualifying for more than one tier are always placed in the higher tier. Stipend amounts are determined annually by U.S. Figure Skating and are not publicly disclosed.
Tier Criteria
A1
1st–3rd at the ISU World Championships or Olympics (excl. team event). Top 1–6 in ISU season's best scores (senior).
A2
4th–10th at the ISU World Championships or Olympics. Top 7–12 in ISU season's best scores (senior).
B1
11th or lower at Worlds or Olympics. 2nd–4th at U.S. Championships. Top 13–24 in ISU season's best scores (senior).
B2
5th–6th at U.S. Championships. Top 1–24 in ISU season's best scores (junior). 2nd–3rd at ISU Junior Grand Prix Final.
C1
7th–8th at U.S. Championships. Team USA 2nd–3rd alternates for Olympics or Worlds. 4th–10th at Four Continents.
C2
Junior athletes meeting lower placement criteria. Athletes who did not qualify for U.S. Championships.
D
Athletes assigned to international competition not meeting higher criteria. Reserve athletes receive no funding.
