Alysa Liu (born August 8, 2005) is the 2026 Olympic champion in women's figure skating and one of the most transcendent athletes the United States has ever produced. She trains with legendary coach Rafael Arutyunyan and competes for the St. Moritz Ice Club.

Liu first captured the world's attention at age 13, when she became the youngest U.S. champion in history at the 2019 Championships — landing a quad lutz in competition and signaling that figure skating had a new prodigy on its hands. After stepping back from competition, she returned with sharper technique and deeper artistry, winning the 2025 World Championship in Boston and the 2025–26 Grand Prix Final, making her the clear gold medal favorite entering Milan. In the Olympic individual event, she delivered the skate of her life, claiming gold in a performance that will be remembered as one of the greatest in American skating history.

Liu's combination of fearless technical content — including some of the most consistent quad jumps in the ladies field — and luminous presentation has set her apart in a stacked era. Liu first became a sensation at age 13, winning the US national championship and becoming the first female skater to land both a triple Axel and a quadruple jump in one program. She completed her story at the 2026 Milan Olympics with gold in both the individual and team events, becoming the first US woman to win Olympic gold in women's singles since Sarah Hughes in 2002.
