SASKATOON — Three of the United States' most compelling stories of the Olympic season played out at the 2025 Skate Canada International, as Bradie Tennell, Sarah Everhardt, and Isabeau Levito each delivered performances that underscored the depth and talent of the American ladies program.
Tennell, the two-time U.S. champion returning to the Grand Prix Series after an extended absence, delivered a short program to "Young and Beautiful" by Lana Del Rey that showed sharpened technical focus alongside the elegance that has defined her career. Her free skate to "The Mission" by Ennio Morricone was one of the highlights of the competition, earning her first Grand Prix medal in several seasons.
"Being out here again on this stage feels incredible," Tennell said. "I missed competing internationally. I want to prove I belong here."
Everhardt, the reigning U.S. bronze medalist, continued building on her breakthrough 2024–25 campaign. The Manassas, Virginia, native trains at Washington FSC and has quietly developed into one of the most well-rounded American ladies competitors, with a clean technical package and growing confidence on the international stage.
In the men's event, Lucas Broussard made his senior Grand Prix debut alongside Ilia Malinin, who extended his win streak to twelve consecutive individual competition victories. Broussard, the 2023 U.S. junior champion, earned strong marks in both the short program and free skate and showed the technical firepower that makes him one of the most anticipated American men's skaters of the next generation.
Christina Carreira and Anthony Ponomarenko, Emily Bratti and Ian Somerville, and Leah Neset and Artem Markelov all competed in the ice dance event, each debuting their 1990s-themed rhythm dances for the first time on the Grand Prix stage.
