Christina Carreira and Anthony Ponomarenko are longtime ice dance partners and 2026 Olympians coached by Scott Moir, Madison Hubbell, and Adrian Diaz. They compete for the Skating Club of New York and the Skating Club of San Francisco, and have been a mainstay of the senior U.S. ice dance field throughout the current Olympic cycle.

Carreira and Ponomarenko have built a career defined by elegance, strong pattern dance technique, and a natural chemistry that has served them well in international competition. Their berth on the 2026 Olympic team in Milan was a hard-earned reward for years of consistent work, and their performance at the Games capped the most successful season of their partnership.

Anthony is the son of Marina Klimova and Sergei Ponomarenko — the only ice dance team in history to win an Olympic medal of every color (bronze 1984, silver 1988, gold 1992). It was Anthony's mother who spotted Christina at a competition in Lake Placid and suggested the pairing. Their coach Scott Moir is himself a two-time Olympic champion with Tessa Virtue. Anthony underwent ankle surgery in 2022 to address damage from a 2015 sprain, and the team has steadily climbed the senior ranks since, earning their first Olympic berth in 2026.
