Andrews made her mark in history as the first Black American woman to win a Grand Prix medal in singles β taking silver at the 2022 Skate Canada International β and the first Black woman to medal at the US national championships since Debi Thomas in 1988. She first gained public attention at age nine when a video of her skating to Willow Smith's "Whip My Hair" went viral with over 57 million views. She is competing in her final season as a singles skater in 2025β26, after announcing plans to move to pairs skating. In a remarkable final statement, she performs her own singing voice in the free skate.
