Ilia Malinin, Alysa Liu and Madison Chock and Evan Bates each claimed gold at the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final 2025 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, capping a dominant fall season for Team USA and heading into the Olympic year with unmistakable momentum.

The five senior U.S. entries at the Grand Prix Final were the most since 2022, with all five having medaled at both their Grand Prix events during the fall. It marked the first time since 2015 the U.S. sent two women to the Grand Prix Final, with Liu joining defending champion Glenn in the field — though Glenn finished fourth this year, with Liu claiming the title.

Malinin set a world record total score of 333.81 points to win the men's event in dominant fashion, adding to world records he set in both the short program (111.29) and free skate (238.24) earlier in the season. The reigning two-time World champion entered the Olympic season as the prohibitive favorite for gold in Milan.

"I feel like I've been building to something this season and Nagoya was the peak of that. My goal was to get to the Olympics and feel exactly like this." — Ilia Malinin

Liu won her first Grand Prix Final title in dominant fashion, defeating South Korea's Chaeyeon Kim and Japan's Mao Shimada. The reigning World champion skated her "MacArthur Park" free skate with the same exuberant joy that has defined her comeback season, posting a season-best total score.

Chock and Bates claimed their third consecutive Grand Prix Final gold with a world record free dance total of 138.41, setting the stage for their Olympic campaign in Milan.

Also competing for the United States were Emilea Zingas and Vadym Kolesnik, who finished sixth in the ice dance event in their Grand Prix Final debut, an impressive result in their first season on the senior circuit.
