Alysa Liu earned her second Grand Prix gold of the 2025-26 season with a commanding win at the 2025 Skate America, held November 14-16 at the historic Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, New York. Madison Chock and Evan Bates also claimed gold in the ice dance event, extending their unbeaten season ahead of the Olympic Winter Games in Milan.
Liu, the reigning World champion, delivered a near-flawless free skate to "MacArthur Park" by Donna Summer in front of a roaring home crowd at the iconic arena that hosted the 1980 Winter Olympics — the site of the Miracle on Ice. Her total score of 222.84 points easily distanced her competitors, with South Korea's Chaeyeon Kim taking silver.
"Skating at Lake Placid is always special. There's so much history in this building and the crowd tonight was electric. I feel really good going into the rest of the season." — Alysa Liu
Chock and Bates were equally dominant in ice dance, posting a combined total of 225.88 to win their second Grand Prix of the season. The seven-time U.S. champions were in complete control throughout the competition, earning Level 4 on nearly every element.
France's Kevin Aymoz won the men's event over the U.S.'s Andrew Torgashev, who claimed silver in a career-best performance at his home Grand Prix — his first Grand Prix medal. Amber Glenn finished second in the women's event, earning silver with a personal-best free skate score of 148.93 points set to "I Will Find You."
"I feel like I found something in that free skate tonight. Something clicked. I want to feel that way at every competition." — Amber Glenn
